Chapter 10

Allison bit back a strangle of screams from her throat. He yanked her head so hard she could feel the hairs one by one tearing from the root. Being with Salvatore was dangerous to her health. With his anger and explosive personality, she knew he was a ticking time bomb ready to go off at any moment. Every time he laid his hands on her, he would get rougher and more violent. She had the bruises to prove it.

Allison wished she had never gotten involved with him. The drugs kept her submissive to him. He had become her supplier and kept her in need of the expensive drugs to feed her growing habit. If she had to put herself in this position to get what she needed, then so be it. Often, she wished he would just kill her. The thought of being free in the afterlife was heaven to her. She thought about it often these days. It just didn’t matter anymore. She also knew that getting Salvatore Cartolano to be a respectable man was out of the question. She was crazy to think she could change him. Salvatore only sucked the life out of people.

Getting the hell out of there with her pay was becoming the only thing on her mind now. She needed a fix. Salvatore threw her bag of powder on the nightstand. Grabbing it quickly, she forced the bag and its contents into her purse.

“Now Bitch, when I see you next, I want to hear that your cop friend is completely on board with my plans.” he growled.

“Yeah, Sal you have my word,” she said.

Grabbing her by the hair again, she could feel the heat of his words burn her skin.

“Because if he's not where I want him. You're fucking dead. Do I make myself clear?”

“Yeah, I heard you.” She fought to keep the tears away. He might consider her a whore, but she would never let him hold the power of her tears over her.

Allison left the club feeling pain in so many ways. There was a sense of relief to know that she carried the cure in her purse. Needing more and more. She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep things from Josh. The good news is the drugs would eventually seep into her veins and cause all the pain to disappear. If I make it home, I will feel better soon. She thought to herself.

Opening the door to her apartment, she sunk into the big leather sofa. She sighed, needing a hit. Taking the needle from the drawer of the end table, she prepared and loaded the drug carefully into the syringe. She released its contents into a bulging vein.

She could feel the substance surging through her body. Closing her eyes, she waited for the rush.

When the euphoric feeling kicked in, she felt no pain. Smiling confidently, she stood up and deciding to go out. Screw Sal! She thought. She really didn’t deserve abuse by that asshole or anyone else.
